On August 26, a glacial collapse sent a flood down the Trishuli through Rasuwa and Nuwakot. More than a thousand people have lost their lives, and thousands more are missing. These are the villages Nuwa Estate’s coffee comes from, and the families our partners have known by name since 2007.

Mountain Preservation Foundation is a nonprofit that protects mountain landscapes by investing in the people who live in them. Since 2007, Nuwa Estate has been part of the fabric of this place: the Tenzing family farm, the schools and clinics its harvests help support, and the farming families whose livelihoods are rooted here. Our relationship with Nuwa brought us to this valley long before the flood.
We intend to be there long after the headlines have moved on, helping restore livelihoods, strengthen local economies and support the communities that call this place home for the long term.

Through long-standing partners on the ground, the Nepal Flood Recovery Fund supports immediate relief and rebuilding in affected communities, putting resources directly into the hands of organizations and people who know these villages, know these families, and understand what is needed now.

Our team will be in Nepal alongside Nuwa Estate, the Nepal Green Tara Foundation and other local partners. We’ll visit the farm, fly over the flood-affected areas, meet with families and partners, and listen to what these communities need next.
